The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation Service) was a bureau of the Department of the Interior which oversaw water development projects in the western United States. Fred A. Houck (1908-1974) worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Denver as a civil engineer from 1931-1958. He worked on several dams in the western U.S. including the Kortes Dam and Power Plant near Casper, Wyoming, and several along the Colorado River such as the Hoover Dam and Glen Canyon Dam.
